Drummers here at Sweetwater swear by Pearl’s Superior Shell Technology (we even have a Pearl Endorser in our ranks), a proprietary technique for achieving the ultimate air chamber. First of all, select woods are chosen, based on their unique acoustic properties, then milled to optimal thickness with overlapping scarf joint seams, providing you with a perfect, air-tight fit. After that, the wood plies are saturated with Pearl’s special AcoustiGlue, which permeates every pore and dries to the exact consistency of the wood, giving you phenomenal resonance. Lastly, the plies are formed in high-temperature molds with 1000 PSI of hydraulic pressure, creating drum shells with remarkable tone, vibrancy, and strength.

Opti-Loc mounting is stable and enhances your tone

Pearl Export EXX series’ Opti-Loc mounting system features a triangular design with two tension rod attachment points that hold your toms firmly in place with no wobble. Pearl places rubber isolators at all of the connection points to allow the shells to vibrate freely for more sustain and resonance. The Opti-Loc mounting system keeps your toms right where you need them and sounding their best, whether you’re practicing at home or recording drum tracks at a studio.
